Japanese Tattoo Art

A Thai model presents his Japanese tattoos on stage during the Tattoo Contest 2005 at MBK Center. More than 60 Thai and foreign tattoo contestants attended the contest to promote tattoo art in Thailand.

An elaborate tattoo of a samurai with his hand to his brow covers the back of a heavily tattooed man. Tattooing is an ancient Japanese art that features recurring symbolic motifs of key figures and ornamentation.
